Lupin Falls
Easy route through the forest with little incline. Nice and wide, wheelchair accessible. This 0.6km trail is best done clockwise for the shortest route. Although it is a loop you can get to the falls and turn back if you're in a time crunch. There is an advanced trail just past the main trail to the left leading up a steep cliff that takes you to the top of the falls. Very steep, only attempt if you have good footwear and are comfortable with heights! This trail can be used year round as the forest keeps the snow levels down.
Getting There
Head out of Gold River and go East on Highway 28 towards Campbell River. You will come to the Buttle Lake Bridge and instead of turning left towards Campbell River turn RIGHT towards the mine. The Lupin Falls parking lot is approximately 5km down the Western Mine Road on the right hand side. There is access to the lake down from the parking lot and the trail to the falls is across the road.
