Drum Lake

Perfect stop along the highway for a swim, paddleboard or kayak! A popular day use area that is located between the Elk River Trailhead and Crest Mountain Trailhead.

Getting There

Head out of Gold River and go east on Highway 28 towards Campbell River. You will pass the Strathcona Park sign on your right and then the Crest Mountain Trailhead eventually on your left. The road will leave the lake and straighten out, you will have to turn left into the unmarked entrance (a break in the trees) before you reach the Elk River Trailhead sign. The entry looks rough but is manageable in a low clearance vehicle.
